In 2018 Kindred Connection partnered with local organizations Puppy Puddle Siargao and PPBCC Foundation to create a project that offers a free spay/neuter and vaccination clinic for dogs and cats in Siargao, Philippines.
Kindred Connection raised just over $10,000, which provided funding to spay/neuter and vaccinate over 800 dogs in Siargao and Surigao.
Beyond the surgeries, these funds were also be used to support these same dogs for a full two weeks after their surgery.
This includes outstanding vet bills, additional surgery, medication, procedures and boarding.
Because we exceeded our fundraising goal, we were also able to fund a two-day clinic in Surigao City, Mindanao, as well.
During this time, we created a Volunteer Outreach Program to not only aid in fundraising to make the project possible, but also to ensure that the dogs have the utmost quality and hand-on assistance during their recovery process.
The mission of this particular project was to uplift the overall quality of life for each dog, as well as decrease the rampant population growth of canines on the island.
We aimed to unify the community by encouraging locals and foreigners, alike, to join our Volunteer Program. We also strived to elevate awareness of the mistreatment, abuse, and suffering of dogs and other living beings on the island.
